This week, I am doing things a little differently on Travel Talk, with a video interview. It is not everyday you meet someone that you click with in a few minutes. Perhaps this happens a little easier when you are actually travelling, but not always.
When I got to Chiang Mai, after a short flight from Krabi, I entered a small hostel, run by an eccentric guy called Kai. I was showed to my dorm, and dumped my things. Then in walked Marc, who instantly started chatting. He was a young wee thing, in his early 20s – having taken a few months out of his summer to travel around South East Asia.
“Wanna go to the walking street market for food?” He said, after 5 minutes. Sure, I said. And off we went; where this was ultimately my first introduction to the crazy markets of Thailand (Krabi was pretty quiet). We ate street food, browsed the markets, and got caught in a huge storm.
I only spent a few days with Marc, as he flew back to Bangkok, but in that short time, I got an insight into his passions for travelling, adventure and seeing the World, as well as wanting to have more deeper and meaningful travel experiences, through volunteering.
Recently, when in Düsseldorf, Germany, I caught up with Marc, and he agreed for me to film him. So this weeks Travel Talk, is Marc from Düsseldorf, Germany.
